On one hand, mobile phone SoCs are powerful, yet in normal phone factors, they are not fully utilized. On the other hand, developers and DIY creators like us are eager for more powerful hardware tools to work on, other than the Pis. Therefore, in October last year, we decided to build a dev board that could feature a mainstream smartphone-level SoC as well as provide enough possibilities for DIY creators to create things. After a year's preparation with partners like Qualcomm, we are glad to bring this modular and portable open-sourced AI box to you, which is the world's first handheld device based on Dragonwing QCM6690.
